The Lenfest Ocean Program has supported several projects to improve predictive power in fisheries science, using an innovative technique called empirical dynamic modeling (EDM). To provide a readily understandable explanation of EDM, and why it may be able to improve population forecasting in fisheries, program staff have created the following “Primer on Empirical Dynamic Modeling for Fisheries.”
