Held on January 21, this webinar spotlighted efforts to combat the alarming decline of salmon in Alaska's Kuskokwim River, a vital resource for 33 subsistence-dependent Tribes and communities. The project focuses on blending Indigenous Knowledge with modern science to better understand salmon life cycles, empowering Indigenous communities in co-stewardship, and developing equitable recommendations for federal fishery management. Attendees explored how collaborative workshops and innovative approaches are driving solutions to restore salmon abundance and support the cultural and economic well-being of Kuskokwim communities.
